    When I was in Mexico City in December, I was thrilled to find out that a local makers market was happening called La Lonja Mercantil which is Mexico City’s version of LA’s Echo Park Craft Fair or Parachute Market. I found some really great artists and met some amazing people while strolling through . One artisan in particular really caught my eye and I ended up coming home with several of her pieces of jewelry. Created by Michelle Goni of Mexico City, Avocet Jewelry is a line of handcrafted jewelry that is inspired by relics and venerated objects. “It is a convergence of rituals, cultures and stories as portrayed int he form of jewelry.”

  2. A VIEW OF MEXICO CITY THRU MY EYES

    This last week I took a trip to Mexico City for the first time and I have returned greatly inspired and with a new appreciation and love for one of the largest cities in the world. This is a city that can’t quite be described for those that have not had the pleasure of visiting its grandeur. The culture is rich, the people are spirited and their perspective on the arts and architecture is mind blowing. There is so much to do in this city it is hard to accomplish it all in one trip but I was able to see enough to grasp its magnificent energy.
