  2. SEARCHING FOR SOUL: TRAVELLER DENIM CO.

Erik and Selenia outside their shop

As you might have noticed, 2013 has been the year of travel for me. I feel very lucky and every trip I have taken I have savored immensely. I’ve been off the writing map the last few weeks because of this heavy travel ( 6 cities in 27 days!), but I’m happy to be back in Texas writing again especially about one of my most recent Austin discoveries: Traveller Denim Co. Right before I headed west to California, I was in Austin and spotted a tiny little shop on the eastside that caught my eye. Most people have the tendency to keep on driving when they see something in the corner of their eye. Not me, and I was thrilled when I walked into a tiny 280 sq ft shop where some badass bespoke denim is being created by partners Erik Untersee and Selenia Rios.

    IMG_2171

When I decided to embark on this new life in Texas, I had hesitations thinking about how challenging it might be for me to find my tribe, my people. As a seeker and an adventurer, I’ve come to enjoy the hunt of discovering and Texas is a really big territory to conquer. I’d gotten so […]

  4. PRIZE: MARBURGER FARMS

    IMG_0332

I am finally wrapping up my trip to Round Top and I wanted to make sure that I featured my favorite booth from the Marburger Farm’s show that I came across.  My interior aesthetic is complex and I usually don’t like to buy antiques from a booth that represents one particular aesthetic.  I like to […]

I’ve always been inspired by people and characters that I run across in life and the same goes when searching out objects and art.  I tend to collect vintage portraits (usually of women) and I am always drawn to sculptures of faces, or masks or any object that reflects a persona.  There were many different […]

A collection of her vintage cowboy hats

I love the unexpected surprises that I find along my path especially when I am not seeking them out.  Back in August I took a last minute trip to Santa Fe to lend support to a dear friend and although time was limited,  I snuck away on an adventure to the local flea market.  I […]
