It seems to take a lot more than usual these days for me to be inspired by fashion editorial shoots. It always seems as though they have been done before in some way or another. Or maybe just too contrived. I stopped looking through typical fashion magazines years ago, just focusing on my mainstays: W mag, Self Service and Acne Paper.
Recently, I was introduced to a great new website, The Impression, that calls itself “the google of fashion”. Basically its a website where you can search for editorial and runway imagery based on subject matter. They feature old editorials as well as new imagery and I’m really loving what they have to offer. This morning I was looking through the site and saw this really beautiful Scandanavian fashion editorial for Fall/Winter 2014. Created for S/SA/W magazine‘s Spring/Summer issue, artist Alexa Meade painted on top of beautiful imagery by photographer Boe Marion of model Zuzanna Bijoch. I am loving the hobo feel of the styling and the emotion that these images create. The painted on texture by the artist is something that I find very unusual and unique and I really love the extra layer of texture it is giving the images.
