This weekend I took a trip to downtown Houston to check out the Houston Fine Arts Fair to get some artistic inspiration and get involved in the vast art scene that is happening in Houston.
I was pleased to see a lot of different work than I saw when I went to the show in Los Angeles this year. To no surprise, there were a lot of galleries from Mexico, South America and Miami that featured many artists work that I hadn’t seen before. I was pleased to find an amazing gallery from Mexico City, Patricia Conde Galeria, that featured very unique photography and work from one of the leading ladies of the Surrealism movement. I was educated on one of Harlem’s top African American women artists, Faith Ringgold, by NYC’s famous ACA Galleries. And I was delighted to find Houston’s own Robert Pruitt, who was named artist of the year by the organization.
Here is a look at my favorite pieces of work from the fair.
Artists above can all be found at ACA GALLERIES in Manhattan.
Above artists found at Woolff Gallery in London.
All of the above artists can be found at the Patricia Conde Galleria in Mexico City.
There was a lot to see! I hope you were able to find something inspiring and discovered some new artists through my eyes.
