Sunday, I headed over to the Pasadena Rose Bowl Flea market with some friends and had a great day of hunting for finds. I wasn’t looking for anything special, but knew I would end up finding a few things. I was very happy with my purchases!
The first item I bought was this hand on a lucite box. I am always in need of things to display my jewelry on and I thought this was perfect for my mantle in my office.
From the same vendor, I bought these antelope horns that I also thought were pretty cool to hang some necklaces off of. Although, there is something neat about the way it is sitting on a shelf with the antlers pointed straight up.
I love collecting colored glass vases and bowls for the cabinets in my dining room and I thought this green glass piece was amazing. It is some special type of glass that I don’t remember the name of
I lost my friends within the first five minutes of being there, but I also ran into many fashion friends…Rodney Burns of Church Boutique, Simona Sabo and stylist Trish Summerville. They introduced me to a friend of theirs that is opening a Pop Up Restaurant on Melrose for the summer that is Southern inspired and has a rooftop! So excited about that!
I was super excited when I found this vintage Costume National bag from one of the best ladies booths at the flea market, Monica. She is European and used to be an amazing stylist in the early years and has a great collection of designer vintage that she sells to people from all over the world. This lady knows what she is doing and I admire her eye quite a bit. This bag is a great example of the killer stuff she sells.
I guess it was a handbag day for me because I walked out of there with three! LOVE this seafoam green little Chanel bag…so darn cute!!!! And the color is to die! I also tried this white bucket bag below but ended up not buying it. Couldn’t do it!
But I did walk away with this little gem below. Love this cute little bag..perfect for going out and the color and detail are so special.
And the last special thing I got on Sunday is this amazing hippie hand drawn book from 1973 about the sun. In it, the author teaches how to become closer to the sun, how to eat properly, breathe, and live a life that leads you to be one with the sun. I can’t tell you how AMAZING this book is!!! The drawings are spectacular and the things it says to do are so classic. This is a rare find, and one that I will be sharing with friends for years to come. See a few of the pages below.
It was a great flea market day! I could have bought so much more, but I spent all my money and we headed out till next time!
