The London collections this season presented a much brighter outlook that what we saw during NYFW. Designers chose to use bold shades of color from purples and reds to teals and greens. It was all in all a much more hopeful season for London designers with some taking it completely over the top (I wouldn’t expect anything less!).
There have been a small group of designers that have been feeling color so much that they have incorporated all the colors of the rainbow into their designs. I first saw it in NY from Jeremy Scott and picked up on it from another crew of extraverted designers in London: Meadham Kirchhoff and Ashish.
So what do we take from this except that we need to search for a pot of gold from now until Fall?
Well, I think in general this type of fashion shows us that people are ready to have some fun with fashion and break the rules a little bit. Sporting bright color in Fall is a new concept, but one that I am all about and one that London is definitely on board with. Although many of these designs we could consider “over the top”, I guarantee you will see the MIXED COLORED FUR become a MAJOR trend for editorials and I can easily see the likes of Anna Della Russo sporting one of the designs above in the coming months. These pieces will be really fun for editorials and I guarantee we will see this new look of “crazy lady” with colors and layers piled on ala Marc Jacobs alot in the Fall editorials.
Stay tuned as I see what Milan has for us. So far I have to say…it’s been more COLOR!!!
