I’ve just finished looking at all of the London shows and just got totally blown away by a luxury knitwear line called Leutton Postle. Everything about it feels so new and different and I haven’t seen anything like it before. The colors are fantastic, their use of faces woven into the pieces is extraordinary and I’m loving the surrealist meets tribal vibe that is going on. I would absolutely die to see these pieces up close!
When I saw this collection I immediately thought of my friend Joanna Williams from Kneeland Co and knew she would die over it as well. And then I remembered that she had found them and done a post on their Spring 2012 collection. We are both avid fans of the arts and crafts movement of the 1960′s and 1970′s and this collection preserves that movement in a very modern way.
Lon-time friends Sam Leutton and Jenny Postle just started this collection one year ago with their first major showing for Spring 2012. Jenny studied at Central Saint Martins and also spent time in China working in knitwear innovation before she moved back to London to do her own thing. Their design approach “embraces color, unusual surface texture and rich pattern to create beautifully offbeat knits for women.”
Leutton Postle is exclusively sold at Browns Focus in London.
