Every time I go to a fashion week, I’m always amazed at the photographers outside of the venue trying to snag pictures of people coming in and out of the shows. It’s funny to watch who they take pictures of. Most of the time they are looking for the famous fashion attendees: editors, celebrities, fashion directors, etc. I also noticed that they snap pictures of somewhat banal outfits…the ones that you can catch inside any current magazine…the people who are wearing all the right fashion: the latest “it” bag, Celine, Proenza, and all the other top name designers.
I, on the otherhand, was most drawn to the ones who were doing something a bit different. I didn’t go crazy with photographing people, its hard to play every role during fashion week. However, I did snap a good handful of people with some interesting perspectives on fashion. Take a look below.
BORROWED FROM THE GIRLS: I saw this trend all over the place while in NYC. Men continue to latch onto women’s fashion from carrying bags, to wearing skirts, bold necklaces and yes lots of fur!
POPS OF COLOR: Interesting pops of color continue. My favorite is neons and pastels.
PASTELS: Love the mixture of all pastels in one look. You have to be good to pull this one off. Sometimes it can look a little crazy, but I still like it. This takes skill.
PAPER BAG STYLE: I kept running into this cute guy named Dana who I noticed among the crowd every time I saw him. I absolutely loved his style, it was very unique and he had a very fresh approach.
WHITE OUT: I did a trend report on white yesterday. I loved seeing the trend already in force on a few people at the shows.
ALL IN ONE: All in one color is still going strong. I like this girl’s approach with all grey. Seemed very Fall 2012.
PILE IT ON: You saw this on the Marc Jacobs runway for Fall 2012. And we’ve been seeing it from the Japanese for ages as they do it best.
Stay tuned to see a re-cap of my NYFW wardrobe…and many more reports from NYFW F/W 2012!
