Trying to catch up on Fall fashion ads and came across an absolute gem – the colored tights Karlie Kloss wore in Oscar de la Renta‘s ad campaign.
Seeing this ad campaign reminded me of a post I did last year after I went to see the Fall 2010 shows in Europe. It was a Trend Alert called “Tights and Toes” and I called out wearing colored tights with heels. Well, looks like that trend has finally landed full force!
This is such a great, budget-friendly idea to jazz up your fall wardrobe. It’s a fun, upbeat way of breaking up black and gray as well as completing an All in One look (we talked about this too) for Fall.
You can watch the video here.
The same idea is being embraced in contemporary designer Corey Lynn Calter’s Fall look book. CLC’s quirkier styles go perfectly with opaque colored tights.
Some of you may know that Corey is one of my favorite clients and we had a blast working on this collection. Mrs. Calter is a talented woman, and if you don’t know of her line, you need to! You can visit Corey Lynn Calter’s website or visit her blog, find out what her favorite items for the season are, look at her collections, and find a store near you, just click here.
There is the potential also to put your own DIY spin on this trend – cut-outs, patterns, mix n’match…etc.
I personally plan on making myself some of Libertine’s fabulous plaid tights.
Have fun with it and carry over the sunny summery attitude into your fall wardrobe!
