Just in time for Valentine’s Day outfit planning, the Spring runways featured many looks focusing on undergarments as outer-garments. With transparency as a main focus in many of the collections, bras took center stage. No longer something to be hidden under your clothes, the bra becomes a major contender in Spring fashion. With Valentine’s day right around the corner, it only seemed natural to highlight this trend in case anyone wants to get on board for their special celebration on Monday.
The trend was seen in three different variations for our brave fashion followers.
Transparent looks dominated the Spring runways encouraging beautiful lingerie worn underneath. Bandeaus and full bras were seen in contrasting colors as well as tonal for a polished yet sexy look.
Other designers went a little bolder and had exposed bras underneath jackets and architectural tops. This look is for the brave, but make sure the bra has full coverage. Fabrications include silk and chiffon versions to keep the look feminine and sporty at the same time.
The bustier made its appearance again in several different variations from tough chic at Balmain to feminine and modest at Rochas. Wear with a full circle skirt for a feminine look or pair with sleek trousers to add masculinity and edge.
This new look encourages all of us ladies to get out there and buy some beautiful lingerie and wear it for more occasions that to just excite our significant others. This time when you go out to shop for your special Valentine’s outfit, think about what you can pair the undergarment with in your fashion wardrobe for Spring. And don’t be afraid to rock the look on Monday!
